If you have been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the prize winner of the GreHoWorCoCha contest, I sincerely apologize for being late. The start of a new term is always rather hectic. Not to mention the fact that my impartial 3rd party judge (who judged the contest “blind,” that is, without knowing the entrant’s name) had a terrible time making up her mind. She said several entries stood out–so next contest I’ll have to think of some 2nd and 3rd prizes, heck maybe even Honorable Mentions. But on to the Great Holiday Word Count Challenge Contest results (all of which are final) to honor the best 150 word or less statement on how to keep writing during crazy-busy holidays. Drumroll: The winner is: Holli from Springfield, Oregon!
I’ll be contacting Holli to set up a consultation in person or via email and perhaps beg her for a bite of delicious Euphoria Chocolates. Holli’s ideas for staying true to writing when the holidays are pulling you every which way are to write 250 words per day (about a typewritten page), load a “Novel” playlist of inspiring music to get those juices flowing, and to use a pouchful of note cards for character development and also as a handy way to scribble down ideas while she’s out and about. Congratulations, Holli, and thanks so much to everyone who entered. This was my first contest, and I thought it was a way to keep you thinking about writing during a stressful (but fun!) part of the year. I hope everyone will implement whatever system works best for you. Oh and don’t forget to KEEP WRITING!
Oh my gosh I am soooooo excited! ๐ Thank you so much, Linda! I can’t wait to meet with you! You’ll be happy to know I have been sticking to plan and I am current 60+ pages into my novel. Yay!! My hubby and I are also taking a weekend trip to the town where my story takes place for some additional inspiration. Thank you, again, I don’t think I can say it enough. ๐
Congratulations to Holli!
