Hiding From Floyd Excerpt

Participating in my first Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards contest has been interesting. I entered on a whim, because there was no entry fee and I’ve been told it can help give an author visibility to agents and publishers, even if you only get to the quarter or semis. Writing Tip for Today: As promised, I’m posting the link to my novel Hiding From Floyd, which has made it to the quarterfinals in 2011 Amazon’s Breakthrough Novel Awards. This is a rather dark story, because it deals with grief and loss. But I hope you’ll keep in mind that it is also about healing and redemption and relearning what matters in life. If you’d like to read the excerpt, go here. You must “Buy” it in order to download onto Kindle or any other PC or app, but it is free. Amazon gives pretty clear instructions on how to first download a free reader (depending on your system) and then “buy” the excerpt. If you like it and would like to leave a review on Amazon, thanks in advance. If you read it and don’t like it, let’s pretend we never had this conversation, OK. Just kidding–be honest.
