The Scoop on Author Platform Class

Last night in my new Business of Writing class, we had a great time adding gadgets and linking our blogs with each other and social networks such as Facebook. This has been one of the most fun and rewarding classes I’ve taught in a long time. And to think that only a few years ago, I was a total Luddite, terrified of all things computer. Speaking of the brave new Tech World we live in, I got some breathtaking news today about The Fence My Father Built. Remember that Kindle freebie week? Maybe you’re so sick of it that you wish you didn’t. 🙂 I just got word from my publisher that although the promotion so far has netted a mere dozen hard copies of Fence, Amazon numbers for paid Kindle downloads are going gangbusters, in the thousands. All this to say that once again, persistence and an often irritatingly repetitous platform of telling everyone I wish I knew is paying off.
Writing Tip for Today: Those three ps are everywhere I look. If you are just starting to build your author platform, hang in there. Practice, Patience and Persistence win the race.
And if you just can’t get enough of me talking about moi and The Fence My Father Built, head over to Shawna Williams’ blog, http://shawnawilliams-oldsmobile.blogspot.com/ where I’m the guest today. Thanks everyone for your support.
