Student makes good! Congrats!

I couldn’t resist tooting a horn for one of my best writing students. Lee Darling of Eugene, Oregon, won this month’s Mystery/Suspense category of Novel Journey’s Out of the Slush Pile Contest. If you’d like to try your luck go here:
Lee’s entry is titled Just Out Of Reach–and haven’t most of us, at one time or another, felt that way about getting published? I know Lee personally and have watched her dogged determination to improve her skills and shine. Last year, she won Second Place in the Nonfiction category in Willamette Writers Kay Snow Awards. Congratulations, Lee. You’ve earned every bit of this honor. But don’t sit there and bask too long. Get thy butt in the chair (BIC) and write.
