Writer at Work

Before we talk about those high stakes for a novel, I had to share a bit of wisdom from a little girl named Julia. The white board (which her mom says was blocking her bedroom’s doorway) reads, “Do Not Enter. Writer at Work (on a new book). No time for anything!!!!” While Julia may have already used her lifetime allotment of exclamation points, her determination and passion is the kind of attitude I want to have every time I sit down to write. I have no doubt that if Julia keeps up this kind of enthusiasm, we’ll be scrambling to buy her best seller one day soon. Right on, Julia! Keep writing.
