Book Review: Sisterchicks in Wooden Shoes by Robin Jones Gunn

True confession time: I read Sisterchicks in Wooden Shoes by Robin Gunn and it’s my first Sisterchicks book. Before you pelt me with all the titles in the series, let me say that I was absolutely delighted. While I usually go for more literary novels, Robin’s command of fiction and down-to-earth characters helped me dispel my own erroneous theory that non-literary fiction must be shallow and uninteresting. Not! I was thoroughly entertained, and I’m in awe of the skill with which “message” is conveyed. No preaching or shallow characters, in fact I dare you not to be swept up by the story, not to mention learn a thing or two about the Netherlands. Good work. I recommend Sisterchicks in Wooden Shoes.
