I’m so humbled that more and more writers are subscribing to, liking and retweeting my “writing tips you can actually use.” I love helping writers and every mention, like or retweet helps me back.

My Big News:

On Wednesday, February 17, 2016, I’m undergoing some major surgery, so I won’t post new tips for a few weeks as I recover. But my archives are chock-full of great tips and ideas for you, so please do search for the kind of writing tip you are looking for, or consult the terrific writing resource I just published with four of my editor/writer buddies, Five Editors Tackle the Twelve Fatal Flaws of Fiction Writing. Don’t worry– I’m pretty sure there’s more pain and discomfort than actual physical danger involved. Prayers and healing thoughts are much appreciated!

Keep Writing, everyone, and I’ll get back to posting writing tips as soon as I can.

  1. I’ve put stars by each of your emails to remind me not to delete them. They inspire me to try again when I’ve just written a chapter that I know isn’t great. It has worked once more to get me out of the doldrums, or to perk up my writing, so thank you for a great series of tips. They are really useful. Wishing you a good recovery from your surgery. All the best to you.

  2. A tape recorder is your best friend while you recover. You can “write” that way from bed or anywhere else you happen to be while God restores you to your full measure of health. Blessings.
