Punkin Chunkin for Authors!

Do NOT try this at home, people: Miss Crankypants’ alter ego, Linda, has just launched her baby into the stratosphere!  Without a parachute! Her baby, who nobody had better call ugly, entered the world a little on the light side but will no doubt gain weight as it’s falling back to Earth.
Relax all you good folks from Child Protective Services. The baby really LOVES being catapulted into orbit. The return trip, eh, not so much. But today we are only concerned with Baby on the way up.
Did Miss CP forget to mention that her baby is a book? Specifically, a book that’s also a fiction novel, for all you readers who never seem to learn that all novels are fiction.
Today we launch A Sky without Stars, a wonderful, heartfelt story if ever there was one. Why, this story has all the ingredients of a blockbuster! Cowboys, Indians, quilts and best of all, LOVE!
This is Punkin Chunkin for Authors!
Miss Cranky has been up since before dawn, strapping her eloquent and poignant prose into a giant slingshot, the better to launch it with! She’s waited all her life to aim one of her books at the sun and release the giant rubberband. Kapowie!  Baby hurtles toward fame, fortune and complimentary gift baskets. And don’t nobody go bringing up the bit about that idiot Icharus who flew too close to the sun.
NO.
She’s well-aware the average time anyone has in the spotlight is short–she used up her fifteen minutes of fame long ago. But if you step outside today and see a satellite in the sky that looks a lot like a book tumbling through space, take cover or else wait for A SKY WITHOUT STARS to flatten you like the Wicked Witch of the West. When you peel yourself from the pavement, head on inside to sit up reading all night long. Now that’s space junk you can really spend an evening with.
